One of the best things I did during pregnancy was prioritizing making meals for postpartum.
I don’t have a passion for cooking. I don’t dislike it either. But when I have a lot on my plate, it’s easily one of the first things to fall off.
I knew that coming home with a newborn was going to make it difficult to make meals. And I really didn’t want to be eating out or scrambling for dinner every night. I wanted to make sure that I had healthy and nutritious meals that I could eat.

While at a women’s retreat, I was brainstorming ideas with another mama friend about prepping for baby. I mentioned how I wanted to make freezer meals before baby girl arrived & it had been hard with Matt having to work so much. She had a great idea that I could invite ladies over to help me cook & freeze meals – and it would make it less lonely!
So I sent out an invite to my friends to come cook with an 8 month pregnant mama! I had all the recipes and ingredients ready – and they just needed to bring an extra set of hands!

When asked what was one thing we couldn’t live without during the first month of Wynnie’s life, BOTH Matt and I agreed – prepared meals!! From meals that friends dropped off in those early weeks to DoorDash gift cards to the meals we had in the freezer. We were SO GRATEFUL for every meal that we didn’t have to make!
So to all the pregnant mamas, here’s your encouragement to prep meals for YOU after birth! It’s easy to focus on the nursery and baby clothes and all the little baby items. And those are good!! But don’t forget about yourself, as well!
